GAYNaGAMER Of The Week : Joma The Birthday Boy

Name : Joma
Age: 26 yrs old
Status: Single

Yes! Our GayNaGamer Of The Week is also our Birthday Boy. He just turned 26 just today, May 27.

Currently plays Ragnarok Online. Character Name: Lee Jung Hyun, Level :99 Assassin. You can catch him at Fenrir Server. He is a member of the former Guild, Rose Croix, which is by the way, dominated by gay members. If you're a newbie in Ragnarok, I highly recommend Joma as your resource person. He is a certified Ragnarok Pro.

He loves to play Dota and Smash Brothers Melee in his Game Cube. You may also take a chance to meet him at Timezone (Glorietta, Greenbelt 3, Trinoma, Gateway). Who knows, you might get a kiss, if you can defeat him at Tekken or Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (Joma, just kiddin!).

When I asked him if he plans or wants to create a guild exclusive for gays, He said, ".. Online Games are for everyone.... I'm not specific.....but if they ever do bash gays on a Server and I'm in it... I'm not going down without a fight.. and I have no plans of losing." (naks! Palaban)

He spends 8-15 hours in gaming. Can you beat that?

He can speak Japanese, by the way.

He is a part-time model and used to play support roles at GMA 7's Maynila and Joyride. Cutie naman po kasi!

Message To Fellow GayNaGamers:

"On line games are for everyone. If they bash you for who you are, it's their problem. If you can't handle the bashing, it's just a game. You build bridges in mmorpgs but life, still, is more important, study hard, prioritize your goals and stay away from drugs."

Hay, nakakainlove ang sinabi nya!

Is "Coming Out" A Problem?

For the past months, I have been reading several gay blogs In Pursuit of Happiness.

Well, the "Happiness" I am referring at this post is about me being free. Free to accept myself as a gay person and freedom to act as a gay person without any insult or critisms from another person (straight or gay).

Reading these blogs, helped me a lot in combatting my self-issues as a gay person.

If you also have issues like mine, I would like to suggest that you listen on the podcast about "Coming Out," at manilagayguy.

Part 1 and Part 2 are already released, and watch out for the 3rd episode. Sabi nga ni Gibbs, Be gentle, baby, it's my first time.

Age Doesn't Matter In Playing Video Games

Video Games is really for everyone, para

....... sa lalaki,

....... babae,

....... bakla,

....... bata,

....... matanda,

....... may ngipin,

...... o wala.

Yesterday, on my way home, riding MRT, I saw an old man enjoying every second of his ride at the then jampacked train, while everyone is having a problem because of overcrowding.

Can we call the old man Lolo Uste?

According to my "age-meter," Lolo Uste is already in his 60's.
.
.
.

Whenever I ride the MRT, it is my habit to find a place at the middle of the train to prevent me from being pushed by the in-coming passengers. And there I found Lolo Uste, seated and enjoying his Gameboy Advance.

Groovy Lolo, eh!

He is really into the game. Though the MRT is air-conditioned, I can still feel the heat maybe because of over-crowding; and Lolo Uste doesn't mind that. Basta't busy sya sa game nya!

Though he is holding a pink Gameboy Advance, my Gaydar doesn't say he is gay (pati matanda pinatulan. hehehe).

I still can remember, this is not the first time I saw old people enjoying Video Games. During my stay in Tokyo, I saw several oldies also playing Gameboy Advance while riding densha (japanese term for train), waiting for their station. And they don't mind if lots of people consider this as a kid stuff.

Basta't nag e-enjoy, Go lang ng Go!

The Sweaty Podcast Experience With The Troikapodcasters

Two days ago, I was invited by the "Troikabloggers / Troikapodcasters" - Migs, Mcvie, Gibbs to be a guest podcaster in their upcoming 2nd podcast with the topic, "Coming Out."

It was a hell of experience.

It's just the four of us during that time, but honestly, like a contestant in Miss Universe, kabado po ang Lola nyo. Lol! That day was the hottest part of summer for me. Tagaktak ang pawis sa kalbo kong ulo dahil sa kaba. Maybe because of the thought that I will be heard by thousands of readers of these three great bloggers, Migs, Mcvie and Gibbs. At the back of my mind, I was thinking if their readers would get something "with a sense" out of my revelations.

Bumalik tuloy ang alaala ko nung first interview ko sa work. I was this nervous too but less the sweat. Hahaha.

Please watch out for that Podcast at manilagayguy.

How Many Hours Do You Play Video/Online Games?

Playing Video/Online Games for sure is full of fun! There are times you won't even recognize that you've been playing the same game the whole day (my experience). Totally focused. And without the feel of any boredom.

It's like these games got your full attention and to feel hunger (for food) is really, really, out of the system. A day would pass without remembering that there are other things to do. Like, feeding your pet, running errands for parents, calling your "loveydude," etc...etc...

Parang Adik. O talagang adik. hehehe.

Since I created this blog, I get to talk with lots of people and their gaming experience.

And a question I will never ever miss is, the length of time they spend for gaming.

Some would say, 4 to 7 hours, 10 hours, or almost 24 hours (just like the case of Janus, our previous GaynaGamer).

Are you the type of gamer who does "the control of gaming"? or, you let "the gaming" controls you?

As in gaming to the max?

....... Until all the monsters are killed?

....... oR Until you get the highest level you want?

How long do you Play your favorite Video/Online Games?

Homophobia - I Hope Will End Soon

I found this Video which I think is worth-sharing.

I wish for an ideal world......

Isang Bakla sa Hukbo ni Aguinaldo - A Stage Play You May Not Want To Miss

Several days ago, my friend invited me to watch him in a stage play at PETA. It was actually my second time to watch a live play. My first was several years ago, the famous musical play of Ms Lea Salonga, Ms Saigon.
Watching a stage play can bring you a totally-different fun and excitement you're getting from holding those joysticks (wag mag-iisip ng green, literal na joystick po yun) the whole day.

Guys and gays, I want to suggest that you try a different form of entertainment (aside from gaming) kahit minsan lang. Minsan pag palaging yun at yun ang ginagawa mo ay nakakasawa rin naman. So why dont you try watching a play.

If you prefer watching a gay-themed play, you may want to try "Isang Bakla sa Hukbo ni Aguinaldo" at UP Manila (I actually got this info from Clickthecity) . A ticket costs P150 (wag na muna bumili ng game cards. hehehe) . Here is the schedule of the play.

May 18, 2007 6:00:PM
May 19, 2007 2:00:PM, 6:00:PM
May 25, 2007 6:00:PM

For more details, you may contact Yin at 0927-7035204 or Krizia at 09062098123.

"Isang Bakla sa Hukbo ni Aguinaldo" - Kita mo, sa title pa lang panalo na. "Copy-paste" ko lang ang summary ng play.

It is 1872 and the fires of nationalism start to burn in Philippine society. The execution of insurgent priests Gomez, Burgos and Zamora enkindles the revolutionary spirit in the Filipinos’ hearts.

It is during this time that an innocent young man named Esteban Duque is sent to study in Manila. There he comes under the tutelage of Don Tiburcio Garchitorena, an eccentric gay landlord. Tiburcio confuses Esteban’s concept of sexuality and morality and introduces him to a thriving underground society of homosexuals.

Esteban becomes a pivotal figure in the course of the Philippine Revolution. He is instrumental in a major victory battle for the Filipinos by infiltrating the enemy camp and stealing the Spaniards’ battle plans. He single-handedly averts a catastrophic event when he saves Aguinaldo and his comrades from Spanish capture. In doing so, he discovers a cowardly plot by the revolutionary leaders to surrender and reach a settlement with the Spaniards.

One act of passion and a display of homosexual tendencies destroys the honor and prestige Esteban acquired through his bravery. While fighting for gay rights in the Malolos Congress, he is shunned and scorned by the very people who placed him on a pedestal, including his own father. There, Esteban unveils the leaders’ plot to give up the fight for Philippine independence. Rigid and shallow in perspective, Aguinaldo and his cabinet seek to erase the memory of the heroic Duque from Philippine history and the Filipino people.

Now, history can no longer recall the tale of the heroic Esteban Duque. But the fires of nationalism that he set aflame will forever burn in our hearts.

KWONHO - Unleash The Power of Your Fist

I thought I will not be able to play KWONHO, an Online game I am waiting for several months. Previously, their Closed Beta Trial (CBT) was scheduled until May 15; but I'm glad the Management extended the CBT until May 23rd. And just today, I was able to install and try the game. It was a pretty exciting game. Fighting scene is awesome.
The game is a Player Vs. Player type of game. And basic fighting mode is Martial Arts : Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi Quan, Baji Quan, Muay Thai, or Judo.

Try!Try! This game!

And build your hunky Heroes.

" KwonHo is the most unique, online fighting game in the world today, and it can only be experienced at ijji.com. Using ultra detailed character models and high quality background stages, KwonHo delivers the 3D brawling experience hardcore fighting gamers know and love, but also revolutionizes the genre by taking customization to a whole new level.

There are no pre-made characters in KwonHo. You, the user, are the essence and motivation behind the martial artist. Choose your character's fighting style, appearance, and even move set! So, even if you are matched up with an opponent whose character has a similar appearance or uses the same fighting style, the gameplay will always be unique. It's up to you to create a legend, one beatdown at a time.

Another new and exciting feature in KwonHo is the ability to create or join a Gym. Interact with other players by training and holding Gym tournaments. Hone your skills, and then seek out players from other Gyms to duke it out for bragging rights. The glory and prestige of your Gym is at stake!"
Here's a youtube video.

Cabal Online Will Make You A Hero

Another great game you need to try is Cabal Online.

I missed to try this game during the Closed Beta Event because of the news that its game system is Pay-to-Play (oi! di naman ako kuripot. hehehe). The Server of this game is of International origin so it would be hard and costly for me to continue this game if ever I joined the CBT and eventually liked the game.

And now, the game is soon to be FREE-TO-PLAY. Vonggah!
Here is the Cabal Online latest announcement,

" From early June, CABAL Online will become a free-to-play service. Players will be able to enter and join the world of Nevareth, simply by downloading the client and registering on the CABAL Online website. The new free service will consist of an optional Premium Service and Item Shop, allowing players to spend CABAL cash with to buy a range of in-game items, armours and pets and Premium Services ......."

Finding The Best Video/Online Game Pt 2

There are over a thousand of Video/Online games in the market. Trying all these games would mean a lot of money and waste of time. So before you choose your game, I think it's important to set your preference. Here are some tips for you:

  1. First and foremost ask yourself what gaming flatform do you like? or enjoy?

  2. What type of games you enjoy? Do you like MMORPG? RPG? FPS?

  3. What type of graphics can "wow" your gaming experience? Do you prefer 2D? Like the cutie cutie Maple Story? Or do you like 3D and very realistic graphics up to the point where you could see blood spattering during game battles like the graphics of 2moons or GTA San Andreas? or WOW?

  4. Always check for in-game trailers/videos and reviews. Through trailers, you can at least tell if the graphics will suit your taste. In my case, I always look for youtube videos to check in-game battles and gameplay. Reviews from famous sites like Gamespot or MMOSITE sometimes help to determine a good game. Reading game forums could also guide you on some problems gamers are experiencing.

  5. Try free game trials. Most of the time, I participate in Closed Beta events of new games. But always bear in your mind, that Closed Betas are done to determine any bugs a new game has. And sometimes you could experience lagging problems during the game. But for me, participating in the Closed Beta is a way to at least determine if the gameplay and graphics are ok with me.

  6. Check the Background Sound from Trailers/Videos. Some gamers are very keen on background sound. I believe in-game sound is important in a game. It can energize us or even inspire us during game battles or to continue the game.

  7. Is it ok with you if a game is Pay-to-Play?Free-To-Play? Always check game system before trying or downloading a game. Don't disappoint yourself by downloading or installing a game without knowing if it is ok to pay for the game time.

These are some few tips I believe could help you Find the Best Video/Online Games. I hope these tips could help you lessen the disappointment in trying a game.

Enjoy your game!

SOME GENIUS ARE NOT GOOD

On May 5, 2000, the world wide web was shocked with new virus, the "I Love You" virus that swept through banks, securities firms, and Web companies. This virus caused a lot of disruptions to business worlwide.

And who is the culprit?

A Filipino.

And now my computer is hit with another famous virus, the "TAGA LIPA ARE!"

Sounds too abvious? With Matching accent pa ha!

Ala eh, Taga-Batangas ka ba?

I don't have yet any information who made this virus. But it "seems" another Pinoy made another genius program for the world to see. I have an AVG Anti-virus running at my computer; but this virus cannot be healed by AVG.

How will you know if you are infected?

Whenever you open Internet Explorer, you will see from the title bar, "TAGA LIPA ARE!"

Well, at least this person has nationalism running in his blood; shouting his roots to the world!

Sus, Yung iba ngang Pinoy ikinahihiya na Pinoy sila e. At least this person is too proud to tell where he came from. Sigh, what a reason! Lol!

Such a waste of talent.

I hope these people will be enlightened on how to use and develop their talents to help other people. Malay mo maging creator ka ng video/online game na Philippine made na ang dating ay mas maganda pa sa WOW o kahit ano pang games ng Koreans or Americans.

I hope that time will come.
If you're hit by this virus, you can try this auto-fix. I hope this could help.

Finding The Best Video/Online Game Pt 1

According to Wikipedia, one of the earliest computer games was developed as early as 1961. And with the rapid advancement of technology, more and more games are added to the list. Games with great graphics, systems and features.

I believe there are over a hundred new games launched yearly. And as the numbers increase, search for the best games would entail much effort, time and money.

I own an internet cafe so it is my business to know the latest and the best games I should install in my computers; games that I think would surely thrill my customers.

Being in this business for two years, I could only share to you my personal observation with my customers. And I can say different people have different taste.

I have a customer who plays MU Online. According to him, he's into this game since its launching and never tried any other game.
He may look at other games like Ragnarok Online, Ran Online, RF Online, etc. whenever other customers play them; but this is his game according to him, the game he enjoys a lot. The graphics, the gameplay and the community. Good for him. Well, maybe playing the same game everyday is different from eating adobo everyday.

Take the case of our current GAYNaGAMER of the Week, Janus. He's been playing Ragnarok Online since 2004; and he has not tried any other game since then.

Cheers to that! They found the best game for them. They found the game that would "tickle" their excitement and enjoyment. From these two cases, one lesson and one keyword you should consider is ENJOYMENT.
