GTA IV Coming This October

Another game worth waiting for (for me) is GTA IV which will be released by Rockstar on October 2007. This will be for PS3 and X360 format.

I hope they will also make format for PC.

As I watch the trailer, all I can say is that the graphics improved a lot. The movements and the looks of the character are almost realistic.

Well, of course the violence and the blood will still be there. And This will surely raise (again) issues about violence in Rockstar's Games, I guess.

DEYMN! Why Should This Be A Problem?

"....... The Philippine National Police Academy has opened its doors to gays and lesbians who want to be police officers.

The academy’s director, Senior Supt. Balligi Tira, said being a member of the “third sex” is not a ground to disqualify persons enrolling in the institution ....... "
(From
Manila Times).

After reading this news, it seems that us, gays, are now getting our own share of space in this world.

But I think this kind of freedom is not yet in its absolute state. There are still so much hardships to hurdle in order to get acceptance in the society.

Let me share with you a part of cupkeyk's journal, a fellow gay gamer and a blogger on his experience trying to get a job from a gaming company.

" I just spent the day staying up, waiting for my job interview with that gaming company. This is my second interview and I found it alarming that they mentioned that my homosexuality was an issue. Not might be, but will be.

I was like, am I not geeky enough? Do I need to show you my AB and damage progression table for optimized barbarian/cleric builds? Anyway, they said, without a shadow of a doubt, my homosexuality will get in the way of my career in the gaming industry. Flat out. Geeks will be alienated by a fag .......

.......But to be ostracized by an entire industry based on sexuality when in fact ALL elves are gay. I mean Gay-logas? Drizzt? Forgotten realms has the seven sisters; they might as well have been called the DIVAS! I am an excellent gamer AND writer. "

You Might Want To Try Age Of Armor

Age of Armor is a robot-themed online game based on the wars between two races.

The massive multiplayer online game is at its open test stage in China. (But I think you can try this. English version is available. I might try this later this week. Client Download would amount to 950+ Mb.)

In Age of Armor, you can:

- Explore the game world presented in incredible graphics and sound.

- Assemble your own Armor, and change it from time to time. Weapon, shield and even color are all for you to decide.

- Choose your character from three classes with distinguishing features. Make decision to be a neo-human sniper, an enhanced-human fighter or a human healer. None is replaceable.

- Find rich PVP and PVE content.

Closed Beta started last June 22, 2007.

Here's the trailer:

The Tale of The Funny Ads

(Sorry, this article is not game related. But please, allow me to post this one.)

Because of the heat, our family decided to have a "Halo-halo" Party.

Ahhhh! I love this party!

My Task: I was asked to buy crushed ice in a nearby market.

Then I saw this sign.

A grin on my face.

Wag pahahalata baka may ma-offend na tindera ng yelo.

Hehehe.

OMG! Pinoy Na Pinoy Na Ang Blogger!

Pinoy Na Pinoy Na Ang Dating Ng Blogger!
Just this night while checking my blogspot account, one thing that really really caught my attention is the latest addtion to blogger, the choice of TAG-LISH (Tagalog-English) Menu.

Hey, am I missing something? I noticed this addition just this night.

Some of the terms are very deep Tagalog.

Though Filipino is my native language, the TAG-LISH Menu somehow confused me.

Hindi lang siguro ako sanay. (Naks!)

Well I think this is a good move by Blogger, to consider Filipino language as a medium in creating an account.

This move remind of what Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo announced a year ago, the conversion of Windows Operating System to Filipino language.

SONY at Battlefield With Church Of England?

With one of the latest PS3 title released by SONY, Resistance: Fall of Man, the company might be sued by the Church England by including Manchester Cathedral in this game for a shootout scene.

A quote from Sunday Times:

Bishop of Manchester Nigel McCulloch said, "For a global manufacturer to re-create one of our great cathedrals with photo-realistic quality and then encourage people to have gun battles in the building is beyond belief and highly irresponsible."

As per ABS-CBN Report,

The Japanese firm had written to officials at Manchester Cathedral in north-west England, saying they had not intended to cause offence by using the building in the PlayStation 3 game "Resistance: Fall of Man,"

"If we have done so, we sincerely apologize," the letter read.

Video Game Addiction, A Mental Disorder?

Quote from the Wall Street Journal:

"Later this month, the American Medical Association’s policy-setting body will decide whether to recommend including “Internet/video game addiction” in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (a.k.a. DSM), the standard-setting catalog of mental illness.
A 10-page document prepared by the AMA’s Council on Science and Public Health suggests that addiction may be present in those whose excessive time in front of the video screen leads to “social dysfunction/disruption.”

Ay! Di pa naman ako nababaliw!Hehehe.

Well, I think everything in excess is not good. It's really, really fun to try video/online games. But take my word, don't be too tied with your gaming or you might miss other good things in life. There are other exciting things to do, you need to experience. Like, bonding with family, finding a boyfriend, watching movies, taking more focus on your work/studies, eating out with friends .......

Today I Will Start My Adventure At Vespanola

After weeks of waiting, finally, I got a copy of the "Granado Espada Pre-Open Beta Client!"

I joined the Closed Beta Testing of this game and I find this game very interesting. The graphics and the in-game music are fantastic.

+++ Plus a new style in Online Gaming where you can control three characters at the same time.

The Pre-Open Beta Test (POBT) started on May 17, 2007 . While, the POBT Game Client can be downloaded weeks before the Test started.

By the way, the total Game Client download would amount to almost 3 Gb. Opo, a whooping 3 GB. Kaya medyo tinamad na akong i-download.

And now, my friend from E-games finally gave me a copy of the POBT Game Client.

Nice! Nice! I can now continue my adventure at Vespanola.

See you there folks.

My Current Status: Playing Devil May Cry Special Edition (PC Version)

I've been playing Devil May Cry Special Edition (PC Version) for 3 days now. Though I have a very tough work schedule for the past days, it never hindered me to try this game.

I find this game very intense and really action-packed.

PLUS! PLUS! A free stare at Dante's beefy body.

My Only complain so far: The Game Controls for PC Keyboard. I think it would be better if the game controls would be the combination of Keyboard and Mouse. But I really liked this game. Maybe, in a couple of days more, I'll get myself used to the controls.

Please Watch the Trailer

Please read some of the reviews for this game.

I Missed Blogging

It's been days since my lost post.

I've been too busy with my Internet Cafe expansion and I need to make sure everything is in perfect place before the "Grand Opening" of my new Internet Cafe.

And I really missed blogging.

Anyways, I am back (with a vengeance). And I think I need to post more articles to compensate for the lost days. And hope some of my readers are still here to read these posts.
